Players that shoot with their elbow out will have a tougher time making as many shots as players who keep their elbow in. What is the reason for this? With a Flying Elbow there will be more movement on the shot. The more movement the more that can go wrong on the shot. If the shot is kept simple and straight there is less that can go wrong on the shot. Less movement is better as less can go awry so the simpler the better.

What players don't realize that fade (move their shooting hand right or left) on their follow through is that they are putting force as their last fingers touch the ball that will move the ball right or left depending on which direction they fade to. Whether it's a slight fade or obvious, they are going to miss shots they should be making. Don't fade on your shot and keep your follow through straight!
Now that is easy to tell a player but getting them to do it is another thing. WIth the Straight Shot there will be a reminder on every shot to keep the follow through straight so right and left misses are eliminated or greatly reduced. If a player fades with the Straight Shot on there will be a tug on the shooting arm. This reminder will help them to keep their follow through straight on all shots which means more makes and scoring more points.
