Why Scrimmage Medleys Are Awesome
Every youth football coach should have his team participate in a scrimmage medley in the weeks leading up to the start of a season. For those of you that do not know what a scrimmage medley is, it is simply a round-robin approach to football where 4-8 teams come together and alternate playing against each other in a scrimmage format.
Offense and Defense get a set number of plays or time slot to get a live look against the opposing team. It's a great format to test you our offensive and defensive playbook, and find your team's strengths and weaknesses without risking a loss.
You can truly prepare your team for the first football game of the season after going through a scrimmage medley.
