Who Produces The Best Junior College Talent? Top 5 Rankings of Junior College Football Recruiting and Talent

Since the last few years, the notion of recruiting raw yet potentially ground-breaking talents have become quite competitive for Division 1 College Football. However, finding out the rare players among the crowd can be pretty challenging to say the least. 

Due to this reason, only a few top-tier colleges in the USA get the chance to find the gems amidst ashes. Some of the best football talent in the country is often playing at your local junior college.  Here, we are going to talk about a few of the top junior colleges that consistently send out Top division 1 recruits. So, without making any further ado, let’s delve right into it! 

  1. Blinn College 

The enormous city of Texas is filled with several football colleges. Hence, among the superfluous tide of institutes, it was supposed to be considerably easier for a small college like Blinn to get shuffled and lost. 

However, owing to its ecstatic sports selection team and brilliant infrastructure, the college has been producing raw talents in a constant manner. In all honesty, the trend is probably going to continue for a prolonged period, as now the new Texas A&M has been formed. 

The players, who were produced by the college, generally vary from one year to another. However, its excellent output of coveted individuals has made it one best recruiting points of the country. 

Cam Newton is one of the most notable players who were discovered by Blinn College.

  1. East Mississippi Community College

Since the last decade, the football team of East Mississippi Community College has won several national championships. Hence, it is no wonder that we had to put them on our list.

Since 2015, the EMCC has produced around five to six players who had made it on the list of top 50 prospects. The record is the best among any other junior colleges in the country.

As mentioned before, EMCC has produced several well-known SEC products over the years. Amongst them, some of the notable names are – Jarran Reed, Justin Cox, Bo Wallace, D.J. Pettway, Derico Autry, Za'Darius Smith, etc.

  1. Hutchinson Community College 

Located in the city of Kansas, the Hutchinson Community College's sports program is quite proficient as well. However, unlike the other colleges mentioned here, this one does not only excel in finding the gems through the ashes.

Besides, it shines in the area of player development as well. Owing to this reason, the HCC has been performing pretty prominently in the state-level games for the last few years.

If you are an avid follower of the football league, then you probably have already heard the name of Cordarrelle Patterson. Yes, that's right. Like many other bright stars in the community, he, too, had begun his journey from HCC.

  1. Garden City Community College 

Because of being established in the city of Kansas, the GCCC often finds itself clashing with the football program of HCC. However, fortunately, the battle between these junior college football giants is pretty healthy and energetic.

Thus, it is quite entertaining to watch them rivaling against each other. Anyways, coming back to the point, like its competitor, GCCC, too, has produced a plethora of talents over the years. You can take Nick Marshall as an example of the same. 

He is currently playing at a national level with the team of Saskatchewan Roughriders.

  1. Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College

In essence, Gulf Coast produces a lot more SEC-level talent than most other junior colleges in the country. The football program of the institution serves as a prime testament to the depth and prowess of the popular Junior College League of Mississippi. 

Besides production, the developmental section of the football program of MGCCC is also pretty hardworking and influential. Due to this reason, like EMCC, several of the players of MGCCC, too, has nourished pretty well and got the chance of playing at the national level.

A few of the prominent names, which were produced by the program, are – Derrick Moncrief, D’haquille Williams, John Jenkins, etc. Hopefully, in the near future, we will see even more such talented individuals coming out of the Gulf Coast College.
