The Best Youth Football Tackling Drills For Safety | PlayMaker Network

This video presents you with safe youth football tackling drills. Coached by a Coach Dave Keel, high school football coach at Homestead High School in Wisconsin, it will teach your kids how to play tackle football responsibly and without fear of injury and trauma.

Youth football is one of the most popular sports for kids in the USA but there is always a big concern from parents about the safety of the game. When the game involves people running at full speed colliding with each other there sure will be injuries all over the place. But, with responsibility and care, you can prevent most injuries and make the game a lot safer.

Youth football coaches have a big impact on the safety of young football players. As we already know, football tackling is the most dangerous part of the game, where injuries happen most of the time. But, with using adequate football tackling drills, youth football coaches can and must teach kids on how to play the game without the need to injure themselves or others. Youth football is thus dependent on youth football coaches to show maturity and learn everything they can on how to prevent injuries and how to safely tackle opponents and pass that knowledge down on their players.

Youth football drills are as such the best way for coaches to pass their knowledge down on their players. If you start teaching the kid from an early age that there is no need to use dangerous power moves, when you can tackle your opponent easily with other, safer tackles, the kids are going to use that knowledge on the field. In that way, youth football is going to get much safer as more and more kids start to use these rules.

Parents also have a big impact on the game, apart from youth football coaches. Of course, every parent first thinks about the safety of his kid, but sometimes parents just want to see their child win. And in these instances, they will teach them to use aggressive and risky moves when playing youth football. Apart from youth football coaches, parents should also learn about youth football drills and their impact on the youth football game.

This video is going to show you some examples of safe tackling drills for kids. If you use these techniques properly, the injury risk will become much lower for both players involved, but the efficiency of the tackle will stay up.
